After a new steering wheel for my mk1 fabia. Any suggestions or shall I just keep to standard. Been lookin at ibiza fr ones but dunno if it would fit

Mk4 golf r32 steering wheel is a straight swap

There is a company on eBay which charge £200 to recover and change the shape of the wheel. They list it for a mk4 golf but its the same steering wheel, they want £100 deposit until they receive your old steering wheel back though. I've been thinking about doing it, I was going to ask them if they would to a GB price

I'd be wary of paying a £100 deposit then sending my steering wheel abroad TBH.

It's through eBay - PayPal so you should be fine, the other thing to do would be to buy a wheel off eBay and then send it to them then when it arrives pay the £200 for them to customise it

I've just realised they do 2 thicknesses of wheels the company I am emailing. 1 looks very chunky but looks much better, he has advised me that he would use it for show use only, the thinner wheel is more for road use.

I've asked him for a price on 5 and 10 steering wheels.

They give you time to fit the new one and send your old one back then refund you your £100 deposit

I bought mine already trimmed like a LCR wheel .. its no thicker than the standard wheel :( but was alot cheaper than £200

I know m8... i was looking at those reshaped ones when i saw mine. It was used but like new and was sold as "thicker than standard" but when i got it it wasn't re-shaped.

I kicked off and i ended getting money off so it ended up costing me £70. Im happy with it tbh for that price but i do like the r32 thickness ones/ flat bottom that they do :love:

Yep it is quite chunky. I'll see if I can find an old tape measure and compare my standard one to the r32 wheel

£35 wheel off ebay and I made the boss out of an old steeringwheel chopped up, turned on my lathe and drilled and tapped to m7 as I can only use 5 of the 6 holes so changed them from the m5 they would have been. Wired the horn thru the red button and coded the airbags out of the can unit to get the light off..

They still haven't got back to me regarding the large wheel. I hope they do soon as they might be missing out!
