My car is at the dealers

Featured Replies

Hi, my littel silver Citigo is now sitting at the dealers.  Had a look at her last night.  Trouble is she had blue plastic stuck on her??  This will be the first time I will be picking up a car without my hubby in years.  Any advice on what I should do in terms of checking the car before I accept it?

Just have a good look over it, make sure all the panel gaps look right and even, check for any dents or scratches. Hopefully you won't find anything.

Then enjoy getting to know your new car.

Take a few mins by yourself to carefully look over it for obvious damage (body panels, wheels and interior trim) and make sure it's actualy the spec you ordered. Also, it wouldn't hurt to ask if you can look at the Pre delivery inspection (PDI) check list just to make sure all the relevant checks have been done. I got caught out once when buying a (not so) Smart car. The Mercedes dealer had 'overlooked' the inspection and not actually done it! Hardly believable eh?

Other than that, enjoy your new purchase! :)

Dealer went through PDI quite carefully with me as part of the handover. Also, my dealer showed me the expectation checklist for dealers from Skoda UK which outlined the handover process quite carefully. I was introduced to the service team manager as part of this Skoda checklist, amongst other things.

You had the Farmer's experience, I found them good all the way through the buying process.
