Hi all,

I'm new to the site and found you guys when looking for information on my soon to be new baby, a TDI Octavia VRS.

I'm a first time Skoda owner and decided on a Octavia VRS to balance my want of a good performance car with my need of a family car. Hoping to be able to gain as much knowledge as I can from all you guys on here to help me get the most out of my new purchase.

Can't wait to get it :-)

May I ask have you already got an insurance quote, from where and how much?

I have difficulties getting a quote from my current insurance company & few other brokers.

FYI I am not young and have max NCB.

Hi all, thanks for the warm welcome.

I got quotes through compare the market, I can't remember the name of the company but my best quote was £240. Thought that was very reasonable, btw, I'm 29 with 11 years NCB.

I have a 12 year old Skoda Octavia mk3 TSI 1.4 with 155000 miles on the clock. It has JUST scraped through its MOT after repeated emissions failures due to carbon buildup. The mechanic has told me he doesn't want to see the car back next year as it won't pass again and cleaning the carbon deposit off wouldn't be worth it given the age and value of the car. I've read a lot about Walnut Blasting to remove carbon buildup. Would it be worth it in my case or is the mechanic right, and I should just

My 1.8tsi Octavia scout coolant pump was leaking via the impeller. I'd like to change the small belt (not the big timing belt!) that spins the impeller as well as the pump etc but the left handed bolt is stuck. I've not tried too much force as the captive gear it holds moves when I try and I'm concerned that I might break something internally. Would anybody have any experience removing this bolt or known methods of doing so? The photo shows the gear and the bolt I'm refering to is holding this g

Hi all, I'm trying to get at the lower radiator hose in my 2016 Octavia. I've looked on google and found that I should remove the seven t25 screws. 5 on the bumper splash shield and one on each side connected to the fender. The shield seems loose, but it won't come off and I don't want to try and pry it too much as I'm concerned that I'll crack it. Can someone tell me what additional screws, or maybe clips, need to be removed to get this off? many thanks for all info

Hi! I'm in need of some help please. My Octavia estate sat for 8 months unused. The battery went flat (AGM Varta) and doesn't charge. I got the car started with a different battery and then swapped in the dead battery to see if it would start charging. BUT, now the engine was running I needed to move the car a bit and found that the gear stick won't go into reverse gear. It can select 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th but not reverse. I've ordered up a new AGM battery (due in a couple of days) but this reverse

Prepping to do 2.0TSi clutch in future - plenty of time and opportunity as I mentioned recently I have a 1.8T L&K Octy also ! I'd seen a comment at some point someone recommending to change rear main seal whilst you are in there. Something to watch for? Also as below
