Latest work done is to replace the low pressure fuel pump behind the rear wheel. This was done as initially the car would not rev over 3000rpm without the EM light coming on and not revving any higher. Then it happened at 2000rpm. Managed to coax it out to Oxford & back over the weekend. All appears to be okay now.

I took the car wading in Chertsey when I was helping with Surrey 4x4 Response. Took it up to the top of the wheel nuts, so not too deep. It can cope with quite a bit more. It was a case of crawling along at about 2mph to try and not create much of a wave so we didn't flood the houses as we drove part then. Needed waders to walk around in as was over the top of my wellies in places.

I removed the Ronbox, Pierberg MAF and the remote switch today. Put the original MAF back in.

Going to get it remapped next week instead, but need the engine & gearbox to relearn there normal settings first, otherwise there could be possible setting up problems.

Had the engine remapped. Feels much better..........,

Well, it would do if 1 or 2 injectors hadn't decided to stop playing ball :D

Freelander being collected today to go and have some new ones fitted Monday.

The auto feels much better now it has some new fluid and the correct amount. I also added some Lucas Transmission Fix at the same time.

The car is drivable, but sounds like a tractor. The new remap is great, and feels quite strong, compared to standard.

I waded my old one to the top of rim a few times, and had a bow wave over the bonnet once, but that did cause a clenched buttock moment!!

Surprised how good the door seals were, as no water got in.

Yes. They wade better than my Yeti did

It's back at Terrain Vehicles. A couple of injectors are being replaced. Hopefully that will stop the diesel knock.

So I get to drive another remapped TD4 auto in the meantime. :D

Oh what a hard life.

Just got back home from Bexhill, having collected the Freelander.

The knock has gone, along with a large chunk of dosh. No 3 injector was kn@ckered. Ended up with 2 new injectors in nos 3 & 4.

The car felt great.

The remap is great and given the car a new lease of life.....I can now overtake slower vehicles, knowing I can get past. Its not pocket rocket like the Yeti was, but it is now much more usable.

Here is is feeling like it is on top of the world at the top of the Bealach na Bà pass

Just got back home.

2000 miles driven. Average fuel consumption coming back down the motorway was 41.7mpg. Best ever, and the car was fairly well laden along with 2 bikes on a towball mounted bike rack.

Really happy with the car, it now feels sorted after all the work I have had done on it.

Now time to put the summer tyres back on......

Had a little problem with the hard wiring for the Tom Tom. A loose +ve lead. Fitted new connector and all fine now.

Fitted a Power Magic box for my front BlackVue camera. It will now stay on till the battery voltage drops to a pre-defined point then it will power off.

Extended my breather pipes for the rear diff, IRD, auto box and the turbo vent filter.

I'm going on an off-roading trip next weekend. Three days of Green Lanes etc. should be great fun.

^ Pics, please, if you can!

I think that I now have around 70mm extra ground clearance over a standard Freelander.

I fitted 225/65R17 General Grabber AT tyres.

Did you ever tell us if you knew where Elsie has gone :'( ?

As it was getting towards MOT day, I took it along to Pini Motors (Tuning Werks to some) and they passed it with flying colours. All good until the end of May 2015.

Looking good Mike.

Had a offroad experiance on Sunday, was the most fun I had in a car, can definately see the appeal of a 4x4!
