Well, this year the journey took us via Luxembourg to Switzerland, we did the old St Gotthard's pass as I got fed up of queuing for 2 hours to get through the damn tunnel (is there always such a queue there??), a night in Lugano, then over to Lake Garda for a night, then Verona, then a night in Venice, then down to Montenegro via Slovenia and Croatia and then to Serbia.

The car worked very well indeed. Now sitting on just over 118k.  I did another tyre rotation on those Barum tyres that have now done 6500 miles (that's since May!) and am very happy with them still.  I did not push the car much, and managed to go from Mulhouse in FRance all the way to the 1st pump on the Croatian motorway (so covered CH, Italy, Slovenia) on 1 tank of fuel (900 km exactly) - best ever in my fully loaded 2.5 tiptronic!  Probably due to low Swiss speed limits, but there was some serious Alpen-climbing involved!  The best MPG recorded was from Lux to Mulhouse at 49 mpg average.

The only thing I have noticed is that when hot and idling there is a bit of a shake now.  If I put the Climate on the shake disappears.  Injector balancing or something else?  I'll be posting some photos from our trip.

 

Nice trip. We would like to go to Lake Garda with some friends, us in the superb with the caravan and them with there motor home. Fingers crossed for next year.

Do it, well worth it!  Lovely part of the world, we've been 3 times in the Superb.
