Just gone and bought a 2009 octavia L&K with a 2.0TDI Pd engine. Very nice car.

The dealership recommended service intervals of 2 years or every 20000 miles. Is that true? Should I be servicing more often than that?

I have just bought a 2012 Octavia 1.6 TDI.

The dealership recommended that I should have it serviced every 1 year or 10,000 miles, but the vehicle data sheet, inside the front cover of the service schedule, quotes Q16, which means 2 years or 18,000 miles service interval. I think I would go with your dealers recommendations. I think my dealership are trying to improve their cashflow situation.

Just for your general information, a neighbour had a Cadillac with a North Star engine, recommended service interval......100,000 miles!!!!
