Oh aye in the grand scheme its nothing lol! Just that the skoda dealers 20mins away have quoted £390 all in. I'd be paying the same essentially, plus the 5 hours of travelling. It's a shame because i probably trust you more than the dealers haha!

Did you get it fitted by the main dealer in the end? Everything go OK? I would assume it did.

Hi Ross!

Sorry for my tardiness! Nope, I'll still be coming to you. Just with it needing to be on a Saturday, it's been difficult finding the time 😞

I'll get there! In the next month or all being well! Sorry again

No need to be sorry, I was genuinely interested to see if you had it done by a dealer is all.

Been a long while since I've been on here as my last Skoda was moved on five years or so back now.

Couple of folks have suggested I pick your brains though as to whether it would be possible to retrofit cruise to my current daily, a 2002 VW Caddy SDI.  Everything is fly-by-wire, so to my mind it should theoretically be possible.

The question really is if a separate control module would be needed or anything...or just a couple of switches & a new indicator stalk with the relevant buttons on, then activation via VCDS.  Stalk shouldn't be a problem as it was used on about 39469276 different models across the VAG range, but anything more in depth at this age is likely to be tricky I'm guessing.

Any idea what would be involved?

Hi, just out of interest is it possible to retrofit cruise to a mk3 Fabia?

It already has a speed limiter stalk which looks almost identical to cruise control and also has front assist.

Thanks

can you supply the parts only for a roomster 2012 TSI? I'm in Cornwall and have vcds and have fitted cruise to caddy's and transporters before so just need the bits 😁

As many of you will know I have been retro fitting cruise control to VAG vehicles for some 20 years or so now. From the early days on the MK1 Octavia to pioneering the Fabia install (for those that remember Fabia-vrs.com) before the kits were available off the shelf.

Cruise control is retro fitted using new genuine parts (unless otherwise stated). Up until I left the dealer network three years ago I was a fully trained Skoda Master Technician. I have a full version of VCDS and can carry out long coding.

Example prices of drive in, cruise out retro fitting

Octavia 2 £120

Octavia 1 and Superb 1 £180 (check for parts will be required as kits are now obsolete).

MK1 Fabia £180 (all vRS models possible, require checking level of central electrics control unit for other models)

MK2 Fabia >2009 £250

MK2 Fabia 2010> £350 Kits  kits now discontinued

Non Skoda VAG models are also catered for, ask for details.

Fitting takes place at my unit near Worcester. Appointments can be evenings (MK1 Fabia) or weekends (everything else).

For further information drop me a PM.

Many thanks

Ross

Hi Ross,

I don't think I am able to send pms yet mate. Can you do a roomster scout 1.9tdi on an 08 plate mate?

Cheers,

Bru
