Wheel dilemma

Featured Replies

Now lads and lasses, I am pondering yet another set of wheels but having a 'do I really need them?' moment.

I currently have these CVR 105s on the car

And my winter tyres are on TD Pro Race 1.2s. I had been using these full time until I took them off in spring and could easily put them back into daily use.

I like both sets but I'm toying with the idea of going back to 18" Zeniths for winter and a set of Neuspeed for the rest of the year. I like the RSe07s best - 05s look very similar to the CVRs I have on. Both sets need a little bit of work although I'd get away with a £140 mobile refurb on the TDs. The satin black of the CVRs is a little tougher to look after so I'd also consider a colour change to silver rather than buying more wheels. Other than that I don't know what else I'd get. They need to be lightweight and clear the Porsche brakes. I don't like designs like the CH/VZ on this car as they look a little small IMO.

Thoughts?

Looks gd on the pro races

not a fan of the TD's on there, not sure if its just silver with silver thing or just too many spokes. much prefer the fewer spokes. i have been looking at rims recently and i think i want these borbet's. although im not sure the few of and thin spokes will suit the car either... what ya reckon?

personally i do like the original VRS rims but would prefer something more unique on my car. i dont even know what the rims it on are called (elegance pd 140 2005)

I'd go the other way. The pro race 2s I reckon look great, whereas huge voids with a couple of spokes thrown in turn me right off.

At least those Borbet wheels look like they should be light compared with many alloy wheels.  I like them.

The other option is a colour change on the CVRs to silver. I do like these

They'll probably be easier to look after than the satin black that are showing a few marks.

The only thing is that a colour change is £250+ and a refurb of the faces on the TDs will be £150, I could sell one set and with the money I'd spend on the refurb, I could put a set of Neuspeed on the car. The TDs would then get me some Zeniths and change.

Neuspeeds.

You know it makes sense.

:)

Ooh, not usually fussed with alloys but I do like those cvr's! Not sure if they'd look as good on my black car though, might be too much. That silver rim line looks swish.
