FK coilover fitting?

Featured Replies

I know its not the best in suspension kits. But i found FK ak street coilovers its there entry level kit. Now this is my 1st fabia vrs and heard when you lower them you need change over parts aswell. Like drop links etc. Can anyone tell me what i need to do and buy cheers.

You'll need the shorter drop links with the fk's and joms and ibiza cupra rear bump stops or you can just trim your old ones down a bit.

Fks come with the shorter drop links. Joms don't but seem to be a bit better than the Fk's

Recommend to change over the top mounts and bearings whilst your there as not to expensive and worth it :)

Cheers for the advice. So the Joms are better than the FKs really?? Still in 2 minds if to get the cheaper coilies i just want it low now rather than waitinf ages to get decent APs.

Yeah I would say most people would go joms over fks.

Ive just brought some joms and waiting for them to arrive, I couldn't afford the aps either and just thought I'd see how they are and if they're no good I can always save for aps.

Yea kind of like me i really want some Ap coilovers but funds at mo are rubbish and i want the car lower so may have to just get some cheapies iv seen alot of people usin joms

If that's the case I'd get some cheap Apex springs. If you go on CP4L and use the code on there, you can get them for about £86 delivered.

Then save for AP's/Weitecs.

Not a bad price that could be a good idea. After looking at a few reviews of the fks and joms seems that they arnt really that good and that APs seem to be the way to go.

I've had JOMs on mine for over 10k and I don't think there as bad as people make out. Granted they aren't the softest out there but I do 2-3k a month in mine and it doesn't bother me. I'd try having a go in someone's car with them fitted because I would have another set without doubt and I knew others who would

JOM's do get good reviews but why spend £180 when you are going to replace them in the future anyway. Get those springs for £86 and you'd probably get £50 back in the classifieds when you get coilovers.

Very good point and had I known you could get springs for that cheap I probably would of but....The way I looked at it was why fit springs to old shockers when for £180 I'm getting new shocks and springs and the option of low I can go. Don't get me wrong I don't run mine stupidly low but does 30mm really make a difference to the 2ft arch gap these have??!! I was going to get a shock and spring kit but thought it wouldn't be low enough for what I wanted

Seems odd to spend £200 on joms plus fitting and alignment (the same again?!) on naff parts. Something like suspension it doesn't seem worth the ballache, for the sake of a extra £150 I'd just wait for the APs.

I only mentioned it as he wanted it lower quickly. If your fitting it yourself then I'd get the springs. If you can't then I 100% agree. Save up and get AP's.
