Retrofit Bluetooth Hands Free - Bolero Headunit

Featured Replies

Hi all

I've enquired with my local dealer about retrofitting a bluetooth handsfree kit to my FL mk 2 Octy.  I've got the Bolero head unit.

They've emailed me and said they only do one type and it is the Nokia CK200 which can be retrofitted pretty much whenever I like, I just need to contact to arrange the date.

It's going to cost a bit (quoted £160 inc fitting, I'm hoping to get this price down with a bit of haggling) but before I commit, I just had a couple of questions I'm hoping fellow Briskodians could answer....

1) Has anyone else got the Nokia CK200 attached to their Bolero headunit?

2) Is it any good?

3) I've got a Samsung Galaxy S3 - I've googled this unit and can find a couple of items, but nothing that says it definitely works with an S3 - does anyone know if it does?  I don't want to invest in the unit then find it doesn't....

Thanks in advance for any help people can give.

Steve.

Why don't you go OEM. You can get a loom and module all together for about £160. get someone local with VCDS to programme it for you. I did that with mine, although I purchased a bolero aswell.

Give "Eddie-NL" a PM, he sorted me out with a Premium OEM kit - & lots of advice.

I reckon it's a better way to go than Nokia, & the S3 works great with it.

(Should have said, mine is the Columbus)

The only sticking point with Bolero and OE BT is the issue if voice control.

There's been a thread on here about it and I'm not sure it's been resolved yet.

Fiscon might also be worth looking at to see if that integrates with the Bolero.

I considered Fiscon before OEM, as it's shown as for both Columbus & Bolero. OEM proved to be more cost effective.

I did have an issue with voice control, but that seems to have been cured with coding.

OEM then rather than Nokia kit then...

(although some OE BT units were made by Nokia, but I think this was early ones).
