rear lower strut brace

Featured Replies

this morning on my way to work i say a golf with a rear lower strut brace looked good but very low. The guy was coincidentaly a visiter to the job site i current work on so i got a chance to look at how it was fitted and it looks like it could fit perfectly on my furby. I just ordered it and should have it by Friday evening, i was just wondering has anyone else saw these or had one fitted.

Whoa...that's funny...sombody in here just showed as a pic of a car with a real low lower strut brace...

Sure it was a strut brace and not a rear ARB?

Ummm.. theres no need for a rear-lower strut brace... infact its impossible with the trailing arm/rear beam suspension that VAG cars have.. you sure it wasnt a 4mo? they have independant rear suspension and probably could have a strut brace, altho it would make no difference whatsoever as the back wheels dont do any steering!

I sent it back this morning didn't even try instaling it. I just lined it up to see how it would look and i must say it was way to low. That would of hit every bump on the road. It was juat about 4" or 5" above the road. I thought that i may have end up doing more damage to my suspension than any good at all. Sorry no pics but it looks like a upper front strut brace with brackets for it to bolt up at the base of the shocks.

Had a look at the golf it's fitted to rhis morning and it has a long dent underneat asked the owner what caused it he said the strut brace is constantly knocking under the car.

That sounds like a rear anti roll bar to me (or a sway bar as they are called in the US). And im not suprised it didnt fit, rear track and the rear axle beam are very different on the Fabia. Looking at the beam Im not sure if its even possible to fit one on a fabia due to the shape of the lower spring platforms.
