Brake Noise / Warped disc?

Featured Replies

I noticed a noise coming from the rear passenger wheel whilst driving. Sounded like two things were rubbing and then resonating. That's the best way I can describe it.

I jacked the rear up and the wheel spins. Although there is one point on the spin where its slightly harder to turn. What could be causing this?

I'm heading down to Cornwall tomorrow and don't have time to get to a garage beforehand. It sounds like it might be buildup on the disc or something like that. I don't think its warped as from what I've read, that's quite hard to do during normal during.

What do you think it is? If its buildup I'm guessing it should just wear off over time?

Thanks

Maybe something stuck between the brake pads and the disc? Dirt etc

I was always told if the disc gets dirt on it then take it to an open road and firmly press the brake pedal a few times to get the pads really working and this may clear some of the dirt off of them. Just a thought.

Have you checked to see if it is the Calliper which is binding/not returning properly as these have a habit of sticking? Just a another thing to consider.
