"flat" fun

Featured Replies

just had the truck valeted inside..... (it was a proper **** tip)

when i went to collect it, the guys had left the ignition on, so the battery was as flat as a fhart.

borrowed a jump pack, and it fired up ok

then i noticed that the heated rear windscreen light was on,on the dash, so.........

after a long time pressing buttons, and coming to the conclusion that there aint no heated rear windscreen (nor a heated rear windscreen button) , i drove home (about 2 miles)

ran ok..........

backed it down the drive, took the keys out.......................

and the heated rear windscreen symbol was still lit up on the dash

they did wash the truck, so poss water under the bonnet into the electrics

or has something "shorted/burnt out" while the ignition was left on

ok folks............. give me your ideas and fixes..........

cheers chaps

Spot on: no heated rear screen or switch. Apparently the only time you'll get the switch is if you've got the heated mirrors instead. (Original Felly setup was to have the mirrors and rear screen active at the same time. The Octy has the same setup.) The connector and wiring is all there though.

If it's been wet, have a look at the fuse/relay board, that's a fairly standard place to get most electrical issues.

but you can see where they`ve been

Mine's only a single cab, but I can concur. The electrics go possessed in heavy rain! In my case, the headlights flash if the dip beam switch is in, the sidelights switch is out and I press the brakes, if it's rained in the last two days.

Doesn't sound serious until you're in the outside lane, tap the brakes and someone pulls out on you thinking you've let them in.
