bought and quite impressed tbh

Featured Replies

well i got it sorted and bought the 1.6,doesn't sound noisy and i'm quite impressed, yes it's not like my suzuki swift sport, but that was race tuned and i added an induction kit making it through the gears better.

picked up and drive home 25-27 miles from leeds, put 20 quid petrol in and it only dropped 15 coming home, makes a world of difference from my old 2l coupe i can tell you

now my oh's roomster is a 2012 modell and yes it's a bit leaner looking but i can see why people like them that have them.

i'm happy, is there anything i can do mod wise to it??? will an induction help otherwise i'll probably keep it standard or is it a case of anything you can do to a fabia you can do to this???

1. Welcome to the fold.

2. Check out my signature for mods that you can do to your Roomster.

My first recommendations would be the RARB from Neuspeed.

It makes cornering much more planted and flatter.

Edit: noticed yours is a petrol 1.6. That said some mods would still be doable

No expert on tuning but the 1.6 petrol has no turbo so improvement options in performance limited to a couple of bhp here or there

Unlike the 1.9TDi that could've been mapped to 130ish bhp IIRC...

yep the 1.6,i've gone from a 2l hyundai coupe,so petrol is easier ,cheaper insurance,i'm not expecting a powerhorse, but it's not as slow as people made out tbh

i'll look around as i know anything can be modded i guess for now it'll be standard till i sort a few things out money wise

cheers guys

and i hought there'd be a huge difference in power from 145 to 105

it's not too bad

 the butt dyno reckons mine puts out 145-150 with all the mods. Definitely quicker than my standard fabia was.

wait until you start playing with the rear seats,

you can slide them forward to reduce leg room but increase boot space if you have no passengers.

take them right out by unclipping them (make sure they are right back or you will not be able to lift the seats to unclip) to give you maximum boot space

I loved mine for the versatility of the space in the back and the shear volume, still not happy I manage to write it off in a shunt

the other thing is the access to the rear seats, as the doors open really wide and the seats are relatively high up which makes it real easy for less mobile people to get in and out the back

down sides I found was the gap between the rear seats and the boot cover, and the reaction to the quirky looks, but a great and versatile motor

enjoy

thanks for that, the looks obviously are different to my missus's roomster as hers is new and mnes higher up.

no ones commented on looks so far i bought it for versatality as we have a dog , bit hard to take him and missus out in my coupe lol

im enjoying driving it and mpg just went up to slightly under 40 not bad for a few short trips it beats 28

potholes don't feel like the grand canyon either in it.

i'll fiddle with the back seats when it's not raining ,my only gripe is the armrest i have to have it up as i bang my hand an dfind gears difficult with it down, rear sensors i'm chuffed with it and it drives like new considering it's done 55,000

im a happy man

Nothing to do with the engine, but a 4 piece set of Heko wind deflectors make the car look better and perform well too. When I bought my Roomster J5 recommended them and they've been great. Aside from looks, you can crack the windows open in the rain and water won't come in, and in the heat you can leave the windows open nearly an inch when parked to avoid it becoming an oven, and because they're tinted it's not obvious to passersby.
