Newbie Skoda owner. Just ordered the VRS :)

Featured Replies

Greetings All

I finally placed my order for a Black petrol DSG Estate. I went for the black pack, Satnav, front park assist, heated seats and sunset glass.Interior red stitching Delivery to be confirmed.

Any options you feel are great additions?

This will be my first Skoda. Prior to this I had a 997 Turbo but needed more practicality and the skoda felt great to drive as well as having a lot of standard features.

With 0% and 3 years free servicing sounded like a good deal. On top the dealer gave me about £1400 off the price of the total car.

My biggest dilemma was choosing the colour! lol. Was stuck between White, Blue, Black, Grey and considered Yellow after seeing a video posted.

Was considering not adding the black pack as car is black but hoping that you can still tell as the roof rails, wing mirrors and grill should be matt black.

Heres hopefully a start to a great friendship

Will post pics when I get the car. delivery about 12 weeks I have been told

Anoop

Congrats on placing your order. I ordered a petrol manual Octy vRS estate 3 weeks ago today, with a few of the same extras too (I went with white though) . Alas the dealership have still not been able to provide a build date or estimated delivery date.

Congrats! Excellent choice of car ;)

I ordered mine on launch date and getting built week 37, I'm sure the black pack is gloss black not matt :-s

Finally have a build date. Week 42, and told car should be ready approx 3 weeks after.

Sounds nice. I've ordered a race blue vRS hatch with black pack, mitsumi, sunset glass and cruise. Don't think it's going to be here until January despite my dealer assuring me it will be 12 weeks from order date.

My dealer assured me the same thing, so I emailed Skoda who rang me back and said no it wouldn't be till Jan for the hatch. :-(

So I ordered an estate, can't stand waiting lol

Well got a call from Skoda UK today (from an email I sent last week) confirming that the hatches (vRS, not sure if its all hatches) were definitely not going to be in production until November so January delivery at the soonest, which is what a few of you guys had pointed out and thanks for that as somehow my dealership had not been informed of this.

Anyway on the plus side just made a new order for a vRS estate, TDI, Meteor Gray, Black Pack, Anthracite Gemini's, Tinted Windows, Cruise Control, Winter Pack and KESSY. :-)

I emailed my dealer after seeing your above comment on another thread, I sent him a screenshot so he could see that you had actually spoken with Skoda UK. He replied saying he has checked it out with Skoda and it is still 12 weeks from order date so we will see. I'm still thinking it's going to be January.

My current car goes at the end of October and the new one is due on the '12 weeks' mid-November, if it's likely to be late I'm going to ask for a loan car.

Hi, I ordered mine yesterday. I think one of the first orders in Belgium.

petrol estate, Race blue, with black design pack and anthracite Gemini alloys.  A lot of other extra goodies: Cruise control, sunset glass, mitsumi, Columbus nav, lane assist, light assist, voice assist, heated seats in the front, electric booth, front assist with emergency braking.

I only test drove the Golf GTI, because test driving the RS is going to take a few weeks (no RS available in Belgium for test drive). I needed to make sure to have the car this year.

I think the metallic blue vRS looks fantastic.  Would love one, but I think they are way over priced.  Loads of other choices for £24K plus.  I would buy one if it was £18K.  TBH over £20K for a Skoda is rediculous.

Would you consider buying a Mk3 TDi vRS Estate at £230 a month with a deposit of only £2000 (typical p/ex)?

Easily achievable if not cheaper, depending on how hard you haggle.

You'd be surprised how much the 0% PCP could save you.

Nice original car dude! I'm coming from a 987 (not quite as quick as that turbo) - I'm going to really miss her but like you agree that the vRS looks like the best offer of tech, engine and build quality for the money on the market at the moment :)

All I can say is my dealer told me the same. I email Skoda directly (via their UK website) on the Friday night and got a call back off them at 10:00 on the Monday. I went in to see my dealer at mid day on that Monday and first thing they said was we've checked and we know nothing about any delays so should be within 12 weeks so I proceeded to tell them I had just had a phone call from Skoda UK and they confirmed November to start building the vRS Hatchback with expected delivery of January. This resulted with the salesman going back into the office and coming back out 10 min later to apologise while his colleagues proceeded to call the other people who had ordered vRS Hatches and tell them the bad news.

I also must add I went directly to Skoda, even though my dealer was adamant of 12 weeks, due the info from others on here finding out the same thing from Skoda or some even from dealers who seemed to be in the Skoda loop.

This wasn't a big deal for me to be honest as I really like the estate but decided to get the hatch to save some £££'s for extras. I couldn't of waited to January, I really do need to work on my patience as its not a vertue of mine.

I hope you get sorted either way pal :-)

I'm not too fussed about waiting tbf its more about covering the gap between October and what looks like Jan before the new car comes. As I've got it in writing from my dealer I should have a good chance of getting a courtesy car.. We shall see
