Derbyshire the land of the Yeti?

Featured Replies

just come back from a weeks holiday near matlock and it seemed like every other vehicle was a Yeti

did not see a single citigo, and very few fabia's, Octavia's, just loads and loads of Yeti's

is this normal for that part of the world?

It must be, as I saw loads when I was down there collecting mine from Rainworth.

Mid Wales to North Wales seemed to be full of Yeti's the last two days!

they must have optimum breeding conditions in derby, and wales then

only thing I can think of :)

Edinburgh is another Yeti hotspot.  Until recently there were four within five minute's walk of home, then a couple of weeks back the neighbours two doors down got one, making it five.  It's a rare day when I don't see a Yeti on the road when I'm out and about.

They seemed to be quite common when we were down in Pembrokeshire back in July as well.  Mostly not local registrations as far as I could see so perhaps that's where Yetis go on holiday?

There were loads up in North Yorkshire too, maybe they like National Parks? I think it might be the steep narrow roads that don' t get gritted in the winter - that's why I got mine.

Not many  round my neck of the woods. Seen a grey looking 62 plate going past my house a few times & I live on an A road.

Yes. Lots of them here in the Derwent Valley.

yep, noticed lots of them, I think I saw every combination possible

Not so common down South on the Hampshire/Sussex border. I know of the lairs of a white, a grey and a cappuchino within about three miles of home  but can go several days without seeing one on the road. And round about here apparently we don't wave - unless the correct response to a friendly wave is a scowl? I'm not really up on the etiquette of such things.

round my part of kent, I see loads of monte's followed by yetis then citigo's, but I think the citigos will push the yeti's into 3rd place soon

No, I think around The Golfe de Morbihan must take the bicuit currently, saw about 15 sat and 10 or so yesterday, may have been repeat sighting, but think not, UK reg, French Belgian German etc  -  it became embarrassing!
