Furby vRS on order

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Ordered my Fabia vRS yesterday - full option (no heated seats though) and will pop to the Seat dealer for the 160PD air intake and strut brace.

Dealer gave me very good price  as this was the 6th Skoda bought at this dealer in one year by friends/ family of mine.... The guy is laughing all the way to the bank :D . Anyways, got excellent price.

One snag though - delivery is only for 10th of October :(

Does anyone know if delivery times in the UK are as bad? (not that I will order one there as I need the steering wheel on the left - thus wrong - side)?

Cheers,

ThePiper

I ordered mine (in UK) last friday and was told by the dealer the car will arrive around the beginnng of September. I have only ordered Black Magic and Cruise control as optional extras and was told it would take less time than one with all the extras so i guess the timescale you have been quoted would be about right. It will be worth the wait though. :)

Never really acounted it would take that much longer for all the extras, but makes sense. Like you say, it'll be worth it - I got that discount so that compensated for the spending on the options.

BTW - Black Magic paint is free here but the airconditioningis manual: you set the temp and control the flow of cold air yourself. Do you know in the UK you get the fully automatic airco?

Fully auto aircon would be Climate Control which isn't available on the VRS here.

I managed to get paint and cruise control thrown in and almost

I got an amazing deal: for starters, VAT is paid for by Skoda (limited time offer), this is about

Yawn :o

A three month waiting list for the Fabia vRS is nothing new. Was the same for ours, plenty of options. Was worth the wait though :)

As for the aircon in that car:

* You can set the temperature

* You can set the fan speed

* You can toggle on/off aircon

* You can direct where you want the air (besides the usual flappy things in the dash, vents-wise).

It's fairly reasonable at getting & keeping the car at the right temperature.

Full climate control adds a few handy features, dunno if it's dual-zone as well?

Not worth a lot in my book, being able to set the temperature is the main thing :)

Not dual zone, but it does control the fans and vents it uses to maintain the temperature which does make a huge difference over the Fabia's :D Now I have it, I would definitely miss it in other cars :D

Chris

Not found any trouble with keeping the temperature in fairness ;)

It's handy it controls the rest as well though, heee hee :D

Hehe - it makes a big difference if you get into a hot car and want it chilled. Car sorts it out (switches on recirc and max fan) and then backs off the fan when it reaches temp. Must be just me being a lazy sod ;)

How come the rears are electric ? never seen that as an option

He is from Antwerp, Belgium ;) I was lucky to own a 2001 Fabia which seemed to be the last of the leccy rear window cars - can't believe it's not even offered as an option on the later cars!

Chris

Is the wiring into the rear doors ready for the electric windows

I ordered my vRS on May 16th (Black, Autochanger,Xenons,Sunroof) I was quoted mid September due to the extras. I went into the dealers yesterday to be told that the car was 'on the boat' and would be ready for delivery in 2 to 3 weeks !! I'm going to wait till 1st September (7 weeks away yet )Aaaagghhhh !!!

I was told by the dealer there was a production run of the hatchback Fabia third week of September.... thus delivery follows that. Cannot stand the wait... and in Belgium only ONE dealer has a vRS ready for test drives. So no place has them second hand or ready in the showroom.

The options on cars in the UK and on the mainland have always been different spec wise. UK used to get higher spec, but nowadays with production methods having changed, this has evened out somewhat. The passenger airbag de-activate is standard, does not appear to be so in UK cars.

For the automatic airco - you can get Fabia's with that in it, but they are for countries like Spain and so on. Apparently where Skoda think they will use it more. Main thing is cold air comes out of the vents....do not mind setting the fan manually. I got to drive a big loaded BMW for work for a while (yeuch) and was constantly playing with the airco (automatic, dual zone + seperate rear setting), so for me give me cold air and I'll control the rest.

Cheers,

(lives in Antwerp now, used to live in UK)

Strangely the 1-series has aircon as an option, even though it costs 5 grand more than the Furby. Amazing :D
