Hi need some advice if anyone can help. Just been buying an oct vrs est (diesel) at weekend. Hadn't drove more than 10 miles from the non-franchise dealer when the exhaust control system light came on with the glow plugs light flickering I think. I drove to Scotland yesterday (200 mile trip) with the light on but when I got in it this morning the lights now off! I'm assume the fault will still show when I have it diagnosed but is there any need to have it checked if lights off? The garage I bought it from said they'd look at it but would need it a few days (without courtesy car) but i don't think I'd put my kids bmx in for a service there. The only reason they got a sale is coz I wanted this car! Anyways that's another story but if anyone could shine a bit of light as to what I should do I'd be grateful. Assuming I'm posting on the relevant section as this is my 3rd post today.....newbie thanks V

Sounds like the dpf needed a regen. When you drove to Scotland it did it then. Keep an eye on it. It might need a forced regen.
