Big knob ordered. They don't normally ship outside the US and Canada but I asked nicely :)

Get the b&m short shifter in there!

Awesome bit of kit and makes changes sooooo much more solid and precise.

The B&M takes a bit more installing than the Forge one :)

Pictures of it in your hand will be required to give some sense of scale  :)

Okay will do :D

I've got a Forge one, I had it fitted to the TT it was brilliant. It felt like I had fit a short shift to it. I've seen you can fit them to the Skoda's so I'll be doing that this weekend when it comes out of the garage after getting a new turbo fitted.

yes rob  but its well worth it!

the forge one on the gear box is nothing compared, the forge one only reduces up and down into gear throw but the B&M is a total reduction, made my changes shorter than my wife's Hyundai coupe and that's got lovely solid short changes.

gives you a more positive and faster change, where the std one is wollowy and kind of all over the place the B&M is rock solid, coupled with the bushes and solid link ends it will be extremely good.

one I had looked good too.

wish ide swapped it into the fabia really if it had fit.

You're talking about the gear knob yah? ;-)

Where did you get the B&M shifter billy?

And would it work with 02M six speeds?

It came on amateurstuntmans vrs I got and stripped for parts.

Dont see why it wouldnt. It just fits on cabin end of the cables.

Rob, can you please update this once you have your big knob. I only have a small knob (in the Fabia, obviously) and would like to know how you feel about gripping a big knob in your left hand and if you notice any slackness when thrusting the knob about.

lmfao...

I'm just amazed you can order a big knob over the internet...

I thought you had to hit it with a hammer and tie a brick to it...

I fitted my knob today. I like it!

I'm a bit tactile with machined metal objects so I can't help caressing my knob as I drive along. Must get out of that habit as it might get me into trouble.

It's a really nice feeling as my knob slips into gear.

It was really easy to get my old knob out and put the new knob in.

Will provide fitted pics later - my phone couldn't handle the sun glaring off the tip of my knob.

My, what shiny knob you have, Rob, should slip through the gears very nicely

A bit short and stubby for my liking, but horses for courses

Did you have to grease it at all prior to inserting?

It'll need to be buffed regularly to stay that shiny, looks very impressive

Ha Ha this is turning into a 70s carry on film..

Just proves how easy it is for big knobs to slip through customs in New Zealand   :)

Like night and day better!!

I have the forge and dave got the b&m
