Just following up from my last post re blown turbo on fabia VRS.

 

I was just wondering what the general thoughts were on second hand turbos i.e. off of fleabay

 

Also are there any recommendations for places to get recon turbos.

 

Ive so far been quoted £750 for a new one.

I'm sure there's a second hand garret turbo for sale on here. I wouldn't go back to a kkk turbo keep an eye out for a garret (presuming your on about a standard turbo here)

So you would have no problem buying second hand then?

its same as anything else ... new / reconditioned you will get a guarantee/ warranty.... second hand you pay your money and take your chance ... it could fail in 10 miles , 10,000 mile or 100,000 miles  

If you know/have a warranty of history - not at all. Assume they last circa 100kmiles

Make sure it fits though - same engine code will be enough
