Just come back from holiday in turkey, while i was out there i bought various cd's of pictures taken by photographers of me and my family on out days out.. Boat trips etc.. Problem is now ive got home one of them doesnt work. Altho it worked on the guys computer who did it. Ive tried it on 4 laptops and two dvd player.. Just says unknown disk. Is there a program or method i can use to get the pictures off? Theres 114 on it, some good ones of my son

At best it's because the disk hasnt been closed.  If you put into a pc with a disk writing software (like nero) it should detect and close it.

 

2nd option if you paid for it is you were scammed.

Sadly this does happen; disks burnt with certain software and in certain conditions wont always play on other equipment. It might even be a case of his burner being slightly out of alignment, so the disk was burnt the same way.

 

It will play back perfectly for him, but not for anyone else; I had this happen a couple of times with oldish burners.

If you look at the shiny side of the disc does it look as if media has been written on the device?

Hi, yeah the disk looks as tho theres media burned on it. Will need to find a computer with nero or similiar and try it out. Thanks guys

What does Nero say the unformated capacity is?? It may well have data on it, but Nero cant "see" it.

 

As I said, if the burner is out of calibration a disk can be full, but no other drive can read the disk.
