Anyone Know if the Genuine Skoda First aid Kit Will fit in Strap thing in the boot??

Featured Replies

Will it fit in the velcro strap thing in the boot of a Fabia!!!

Cheers

Steve

Dunno about the Skoda one, but a (cheaper) Boots one fits a treat.

The strap's for the VAG oil!

The strap's for the VAG oil!

Which is a bit daft, as the oil comes in a velcro'd bag that just sticks to the boot lining. I keep my first aid kit in the box under the passenger seat, and use the strap in the boot to hold my fire extinguisher and a 500ml bottle of washer concentrate. My spare oil sits in the little cubby above the left rear wheel arch, safely held in place it its velcro bag. (I do have to make sure the lid's on nice and tight, as it's sitting on its side and would leak really badly otherwise.)

Bit off-topic, but my oil was down to the bottom of the dimply bit when I checked it the other day. It's been OK the last few months, but I guess in this (intermittently) warmer weather, the engine works harder - not least as the air-con's on full blast - so it's started using oil again. Just a little warning in case anyone else is in the same boat...

Yours may have done - all I got was the plastic bottle...

I put in 270ml at around 5,000 miles - which would have been about February. Not needed any since...

Velcro oil bag - bit posh aren't we? :pimp:

Aye What velcro Oil Bag????

Velcro bag the dealer 'gave' me when I bought the PD oil ;)

'gave' in quotes as the markup is rather staggering. Still.

Either way - the official first aid kit not only does NOT fit under the strap, it ALSO doesnt fit in the bags you can buy from Skoda to fit in the boot (against the wheel arches).

Completely hacked me off that, as they've got the cross symbol on them as well

Mmmm Need Pic of said bag methinks????

Anyway Thanks all! Have saved me

Let's just say there is a great potential to spend lotsadosh  - that said the GBs tend to save ya money, although of course you still need to pay :( ;)

As for pics:

Skoda site: http://www.skoda.co.uk/skoda3g/content/showroom/accessories/accessories.aspx?model=fabia&category=Interior%20Protection&subcategory=Boot%20Storage

I've got the luggage pouch (get dealer to fit it as it's a pain in the backside).

Also have the two storage pockets. The passenger-side on has the logo on it. The Skoda-supplied first aid kit doesnt even come close to fitting in that.

Ended up slapping it into the luggage pouch, together with the headlight convertors and the warning triangle required by law in most countries on the continent.

Hope that helps :)
