Keeping you foot off he pedal

Featured Replies

After a recent purchase of a static caravan, I initially went the fastest route from Hull to Ripon using the M62/A1(M) and the fuel was showing on average most weeks at 40.1 mpg. I decided to experiment using the shortest route going across country Via Market Weighton, York, Helperby and Boroughbridge and although it took me 35 minutes longer it was almost 24 miles shorter and the fuel consumption by not using the motorways went up to 44.2 mpg, thus saving money in mileage and consumption. Sometimes slower and less of the pedal does pay dividends

Good to hear that Jonceebee.

So, you're a static caravan owner now, well done

Kitten and I have had one for nearly 5 years now and have it on a Bourne Leisure site in Dorset.

Which caravan do you own, and at which site???

Coast is a lot closer in the other direction joncee :giggle:

I assume you are a rollercoaster fanatic up at ligh****er valley?

Better not head to that town in lincolnshire between hatfield and immingham!

It only saves you money in consumption and mileage if you value your time as zero opportunity cost. Depending on your age this may be true (ish!) :-)

Btw, swear filter for the win. That is brilliant - a dreadful piece of nanny software (why do we need this-how many under 15s would bother to be on a Skoda forum?!) has made me smile.

I can see exactly where it complained (light water) which is a bit silly, but you could always report it to Colin and the Mods as oversensitive and they can possibly rectify it.

And how do you know how many children are looking at this Forum? It is quite possible that there are younger members here. After all we suffered the "onenote" and his various personifications!! Plus members are parents so their children could be looking on.

And then of course there are some who have complained about innuendo and smut in this section. :giggle:

Some might even consider your forum name "unsuitable" or "objectionable". :whew:  :giggle:

I thought the "Scunthorpe" problem had been resolved?

I'd missed Ligh****er valley though. :giggle:

Any way we're just off to Morrisons at Scumthorpe to do a bit of shopping and have a quick Cuppa. :coffee:

This is actually my third static since the early 1990's the first one in Pickering, the second in Epworth Lincolnshire and the new one a 2013 Willerby  Winchester at Swaleside Park Topcliffe Near Thirsk, a great River location, very quiet and relaxing. I have no interest in Ligh****er as we prefer the countryside and being near the Breweries in Masham is a bonus

We're new static owners too.

Are you in Ligh****er too? :giggle: :giggle:

I'm not sure how hair removal cream can be considered unsuitable or objectionable. Maybe Colin and the mods can rectify you as oversensitive? :-)

You do understand smillies, don't you?

And I'm trying to understand the hair removal connection? :wonder:

Don,t know where Hair removal cream comes into it either.Read the Urban Dictionary, and the expression "Pump my Nads" was used in the Film Breakfast Club, by Judd Nelson. It refers to ?????? I,ll let you research that one Graham ( could be a bit sensitive for our Yeti Forum),HTH

Tony
