Front pads

Featured Replies

Just changed the front pads because about to go holiday and they were looking rather worn. £31 seems amazingly good value considering I got 64,000 miles and 38 months out of them. Less than half a tank of petrol!

One thing. The driver's side pads were a lot more worn than the near side ones but its on the NS that the wear indicator is... The OS ones would have been down to the metal before the indicator lit up I would think. I wonder if the drivers side wears more quickly because the driving side always has weight on it and, of course, these cars are more likely to be left hand drive.

just a thought but salutary perhaps.

Just done my front pads and disks. They had worn evenly both sides but the disks had a bit of a lip on them.

A frequent cause of uneven brake wear is a sticking caliper.

Somewhat bemused by the differential transverse loading speculation.
