I've just purchased a garrett turbo from a member on here as my original kkk turbo kindly decided it had, had enough.

Anyway been told that for it to fit my fabia vrs it needs clocking? Im not fitting it myself but I have a mechanic friend who kindly said he will fit it for me.

Could someone help me with explaining what needs to be done so it can be fitted nto my fabia.

The inlet or outlet (I can never remember which) points the wrong way on the Garrett units for their standard fitment on Golfs.

 

Essentially you need to undo the bolts holding the housing together, rotate the relevant section until the inlet/outlet points the correct way to fit your Fabia

Also it needs 2 exhaust studs will they be able to come off the old turbo?

it's jut a case of making everything line up.

Get the KKK off, put it next to the Garrett and rotate the Garrett housing until they look the same.

Otherwise you'll bolt it back on to the block and it won;t line up and you'll have to unbolt it all

 

Stud wise in theory yes - in practise potentially no

 

On my first turbo the change the new unit came with new studs so job was a goodun

the second one we had to remove them from the dead turbo and one snapped clean in half.

Luckily I still had the other dead unit in the garage so we managed to get one out of that to use
