Urgent, anyone breaking a fabia vRS?

Featured Replies

Need the hubs asap!

While putting std breaks back on mine ive found one of the holes for the brake carriers was helicoiled and it came out.

Not the best so need them asap so I can prep them for fitting sharpish!

Ps not bothered about bearings being good just all threads being perfect.

Going down to tps now to see on prices

make that good bearings.

its over 100 notes for the bearings

One of mine is heli coiled. Heli coils are stronger than the original hole so can't see why you would want rid of them!

The coil has come out. They tightened up fine but on removal they pulled out.

Put it back in with a type of glue or re-do them.

Only my opinion but its not really much of a problem but changing the full hub sort of is and will cost more money.

Glue a bolt for a brake carrier?

lol

anyone know where in Cardiff I can get it done?

might have to invest in a kit to do it.

bolt is in and lots of lock tight on it atm, it screws in but doesn't torque up, sposed to be 125nm iirc but only goes to 20.

Glue a bolt for a brake carrier?

I can imagine that looks bad when reading it back. It isn't a crappy super glue to hold some threads in, the threads Should still be in place that hold the helicoil, I assume its just unwound really.

Iirc, that torque figure has been revised now and is lower. Although I don't have any fact of that but I don't even torque them now, just as tight as I can get with a 1/2" ratchet

If the helicoil has come out it needs re drilling, unless its unwound its self! Use lock tite to get the helicoil to stay where it is?

Anyone know the bolt size and patern of threads so I can get a kit to do it? Not too expensive by looks of it.
