Right guys, i have managed to acquire a OMP 300mm steering wheel. Now obviously i know i need a boss for this to fit, however i cant find an OMP skoda boss, but will a momo boss do the same job? 

Also how hard is it to fit an aftermarket steering wheel?

Get the omp one for a MK4 golf, mono are ****. Easy to fit, airbag off, one bolt off and swap.

Ahh cool mate, ebay the best place? and is it a pretty much straight swap?

Get the omp one for a MK4 golf, mono are ****. Easy to fit, airbag off, one bolt off and swap.

That's a generic non branded one, genuine omp one is £60ish on eBay. It'll come with a loom to cancel the airbag light then too.

To do it, from memory;

Use thin flat head screwdriver to put in the two holes in the back of the airbag to pop it out (hardest and most awkward bit)

Unplug airbag and remove

Check wheel is nice and straight

Remove the big but holding the wheel on and pull the wheel off.

I then put new wheel onto the boss (just one or two nuts) so I could line it up.

Tighten nut properly & wire airbag light loom if you have one

Put wheel on properly and attach horn wires.

Drive and admire you new wheel.

Still cant find a genuine OMP boss though :(

Demontweeks do them for £55 iirc.

They dont seem to do one for a vrs on demontweeks, im guessing a mk4 golf is fine however?
