confused in a good way?

Featured Replies

Just been and done a deal on a 59 plate cr fl vrs estate. Really can't wait to pick it up. Whats confusing me is all I have read about common rail is there smooth and nice to drive but don't feel fast like a pd. I must say I disagree, I was really surprised how it drove, it was amazing! It felt faster then my remapped fabia, and the brakes where amazing!

The PD feels faster than it is because it delivers most of its torque low down. the cr is more linear and doesn't to start to get a wriggle on until over 1700 rpm. the cr is fast, but in a more subtle way. ok it's not tsi fast but gets you the wrong side of the nsl before you realise. don't forget with a mapped pd your experience of that engine will be different to a boggo standard one. just enjoy it and if you get fed up get the cr mapped too! enjoyyyyyy....

Sounds nice - what colour did you go for?

PD and CR just behave differently, that's all. I don't think you'll regret your choice!

And post some pics up when you get it - welcome to the Octy2 section :)
