Rear washer push fitting

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

Had a few different issues with the rear washer.

Latest one is the push fit connector that is attached to the rear motor is split/cracked so it leaking into the boot.

I've got another fitting from my local scrap yard but i'm struggling like hell to get the fitting onto the pipe. The pipe is just so much smaller than the tapered end of the fitting.

I've tried dipping the tubing in some boiled water to soften it up but still had no joy.

Anyone got any tips or tricks to fit these?

Cheers

I just cut the stupid push fittings off the pipe and sleeve the two pipe ends together with a piece of rubber tubing with small cable ties on each end for good measure. Same might work for fitting to pump nozzle or rear washer.

Halfords  5mm vacuum tube (£5.59 per pre-packed metre) off the shelf works perfectly for joining the rear washer pipe behind the N/S rear wheelarch trim inside the car. Might need a different size tube for other joints/nozzles.

Here's a pic of where I sleeved mine at the bulkhead too. Nice to have no more popping off connectors.
