Spare wheel 205/50R16 V rated ?

Featured Replies

Unfortunately I am in Germany & have got a screw in my rear passenger tyre :(

My spare USC not quite a space saver but has a V rated tyre fitted with the dreaded 50mph/80kmh max speed sticker !!!

Surely the V rated tyre fitted to the spare should cope with running at 80mph/130kmh for the journey home on Sunday ?

Just don't fancy doing 600+ miles at 50mph :(

The speed limit is there as you'll be running different size tyres on the same axle. The tyre has the usual V rating of any other tyre so is capable of more than 50mph.

I'm confident that you could buy a replacement tyre in Germany if you want to ;) .

If not then drive home at 50 mph and console yourself with the much higher than normal mpg you'll be getting.
