smoke from pipe going in to airbox

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I took off the airfiler assembly from the top of my 1.416v 02 plate to administer some first aid to my egr valve.. I'm having loads of problems with my fabia recently.

The engine was running and I noticed that the small round flexible pipe that comes from down by the block and feeds in to the airbox was emitting a fair amount of smoke.. Is this something to be concerned about? I don't know what this pipe does, but smoke = bad in my books!!

Ive just had the front 02 sensor done to try and stop a problem where the revs keep falling to zero then picking up again whilst driving.. 02 sensor didn't sort the issue :-( It went mad today, revs down, up, down up, down up, down then engine cuts. Mostly does this when warm..

It keeps cutting out when idling too. one minute it is there ok, the next it has just cut out.

Anyone got any ideas if everything above is connected and what it might be??

Many thanls

The pipe is probably the crank case breather. Yes that will smoke/steam a bit.

You could have a vacuum leak causing the stalling problem.
