FMIC Help?

Featured Replies

Hi guys, I believe I'm running a universal dark side front mount, with exits at either end of the cooler itself, however, the one on the passenger side has an awful bend in it, this has been done by the previous owner, now without having to change the whole set up I was wondering if I was able to just change a few boost pipes or just the all the boost pipes themselves? Meaning running the boost pipes a different way as at the moment they run behind the bumper literally behind the intercooler.

Also I want some custom colour silicone hoses if anyone know the best and cheaper place to go as forge seem a little mad.

Here's a few photos of the boost pipes

Thanks in advance.

So does that passenger side bend run back behind the intercooler? Surely a tidier u bend would help that look a bit tidier

Try samco or sfs performance or some universal ebay bits?

The TX Autosport kit runs the hot pipe behind the rad pack and pops out front on the nearside. Might be some issues supporting pipes and avoiding the bottom rad hose and some wiring but it's been done.

so from looking at that pic, the hot air goes in to the passenger side of the cooler and out of the drivers side into the throttle body etc?

Ash hoses is your best bet mate, they do a huge range of colours and some glittery ones too.

Do you want to just have a nicer looking pipe or change the position aswell?

Yeah the hot air pipe runs back along, infront of the radiator, but behind the intercooler. And yeah was just seeing if anyone had run something along the same lines as me, so i could modify mine :)

Wicked, cheers mate, ill have a look at it, to be honest i can see myself having to change the whole lot!

Yeah mate thats how it runs, dunno if this is wrong or right, never touched turbos until a few months ago!?

Nice one joe, ill go have a look, saw them the other day, just couldnt remember the name!

In a perfect world, i want to have the pipe work hidden behind the bumper, but still a noticable intercooler, so maybe fancy colour pipes arent the best way to go, but it would suit my new theme  :giggle:

You will have to look at mounting it further back then bud. I imagine its just bolted straight to the crash bar? I made hangers for my old tx one so it was sat right back, just two plates of 5mm steel done the trick.

Counting the rows, it's not that big a cooler, seems similar to the TX Autosport intercooler, or many on eBay at around £60. As Joe stated, could be mounted far further back, though some effort in routing the pipes....

IMO try mounting it further back, behind the front end of the bumper bar. Pics, pics, where are the pics...

Intercooler and pipes on this Facespace are the TX Autosport/JBI Motorsport jobbie.

Much discussion here regarding the kit and its quality.

Yeah i think hes just bolted it down using the 3 lugs they have at the top of the cooler.

May have to make some hangers to reposition it!
