Replacement remote key

Featured Replies

Where can I get a replacement key?

A cheap one, doesn't have to be an OEM just has to unlock the doors and start the car.

I only have one key, and I lose things, and am scared of not having a spare!

Start with eBay.... ISTR alarm/backend - £20-£25 - Front end/key/chip - £60(?!?!)

Then you need someone to code the chip to the car's imobiliser. That could be free or cost £xxs...

I sell emergency keys at work for £30.

It's a full remote key with the same blade to lock and unlock doors and the remote synced up to remotely lock and unlock the cars also.

The downside, it isn't synced to the immobiliser so will not start the car, this is an extra £50.

I would prefer a flip key...

Bought a second hand key from eBay for £15. The coding isn't exactly coding..New key goes into barrel, old key goes into door, car learns key so £80...wow!?

Not so simple if you want the immobiliser to work.

Or, to be pedantic, to NOT to work, allowing the car to be started/driven on the new key. Need coding with expensive (?!?!) software to code the new key's transponder to the car.

As above. The coding jamwatn is on about is just to unlock the doors via central locking. Which anyone can do as I done mine myself prior to getting it coded by a mobile auto locksmith who does group buys etc.

I doubt he's going to travel all the way from up North to supply, cut & program you a remote for £80! lol
