Continental ContiWinterContact TS830P for Mk3 vRS

Featured Replies

Hi.

Has anyone fitted these tyres to their cars in the past, albeit Mk2 vRS or Mk2 Octavia's and what was the performance & handling like in the snow and icy conditions?

Thanks.

Hi,

I've had these fitted to my previous car for the past 2 winter seasons albeit that was a Jaguar X-type 2.2D estate.

I was very impressed with them in general and the difference they made - it is nice wafting past a stranded X5!

To be fair these are only winter tyres I have driven on and I was happy with them even when it was cold and icy. The water the clear, for example, is pretty impressive although it was a worry on the motorway as the cars behind quickly disappeared in the spray!

I tended to run them a few psi higher than summer tyres to offset the fact they are slightly softer, seemed to make a difference.

Even when the weather warmed up they were still good - I was very lazy this year and kept them on longer than normal but when the temperatures hit mid twenties I eventually got round to taking them off as they were getting wrecked (few wee bits of tread we're breaking off, but probably says more about my driving than anything else!)

Another bonus is they are pretty quiet and is preferred running them to the summer tyres that replaced them.

Thanks.

I had these fitted to my 2011 mk2 TSi vRS.

They were outstanding in cold and icy conditions, and very confindent in damp, wet UK weather.

As Mike stated they are a very quiet tyre and The softer compound makes them a very comfortable ride.

I had them on mine from October through to March and only took them off because I had a puncture in one of them (piece of metal through it).

I have now sold my vRS and bought an S4 so coincedentally have the remaining 3 for sale in the car parts for sale section here on Briskoda if you are intetested :)
