Foot well lighting

Featured Replies

Has anyone installed there own foot well lighting in their Furby? I'm planning to attempt it over the next few weeks. My plan is to run from the courtesy light under the headliner and follow the windscreen down and then into the foot well with some strip SMDs. I will also go into the back as well and find somewhere to put strips so they are hidden but provide some light.

Has anyone tried this?

Would I need to up the fuse in the appropriate position?

Would I be best to add an inline fuse between the courtesy light and the 2 wires I will run off it (left and right)?

Thanks for reading and look forward to any answers

Jon

PS I will be using white lights, I'm going for practicality not some kind of neon interior, I'm also changing my boot lights to white as well, as for a trial I went blue.>_>

I've LED-ed up my whole car :).

No need to up the fuse since you replace the ones in the roof with LED aswell ;).

How did you wire up the LEDs in the foot wells? Did you do what I intend to do? Any tips or advice would be great.

Yes, I wired them through the roof =).

It's really simple, just remove the cower on the inside of the A-pillar, the rest is really simple.
You can tuck the wire in at the front side of the inner-roof and if you have a plastic butterknife / plastic crowbar you can push the wire in between the plastic and the bottom-part of the opening without risking of damaging the wire!

I take it the plastic piece on the A pillar is just clipped on and pry's off? Sounds easy enough, thanks.

Looks very good in your car. Thanks for the response, every bit of knowledge before doing the job helps.

I'm thinking of putting some lights in the underside of the doors, below the pockets to serve as puddle lights ;)

Yes, it's clipped on!
Thank you, if there is any questions just ask me and I'll try to provide an answer!
Regarding the underside of the doors, there is EXTREMLY little spacing between the door and the door-sill!
I'm thinking it's better if you go for the approach that 32kofdata did (bulbs in mirrors)!

I know that I'm going to do that as soon as I got some spare test-lamps ;).
