Any specific manufacture or are they more or less the same??

Castrol Edge in mine... No probs so far.

I have 5w30 in mine and have since 60k, now 103k and still going strong, changed every 5k

I use ARAL 5w30

5w40 on mine.

Castrol Edge.

5w30 Castrol edge in mine. used it for years no problems

Being a ridiculously fussy and neurotic type, but also having had lots of experience with race engines and using a variety of oils in them and measuring the results when doing re-builds - I have to say that I still recommend Mobil 1.

Eurocarparts are doing a great deal on oil.

I use millers trident which is dealer spec. Miller oils are superb. 5w30 or 5w40 is good enough.

just a question

I use motul 5w30 on my vrs mk1 2002 stage1 , so i would like to know if i change to motul 300v power 5w40 what will be the difference if would be any ?

My tought is that maybe summer at hot engine the 5w40 oil would be more viscous ,stable at high degrees, but i'm curious about others opinions.

Is there better to use the 5w40 in a 208k km onboard vrs or just stick with the good 5w30 as used since i have the car ???

thanx in advance

I used 5 30 castrol edge

I always us 10/40

Ive always used Mobil 1 0w40 every year (approx 6k miles).  Doesnt seem to use a drop (nearly at 100k now)

doesn't use a drop mine too.

But i was curious the difference between 5w30 and 5w40, also i read that 10w40 at wintertime could start had knocking engine sound for a few sec, did you had those with 10w40 ?

because of thikness the could oil cannot go up to top of engine so quick perhaps...!
