Greenlight insurance

Featured Replies

So went to renew my insurance with Abbey and it has jumped from £400 to £700 (that's with 'discount') My previous car was only group 5 insurance! So obviously insurance will increase now I've got my vrs. Anyway got a quote from green light for £510! Want some reviews on green light before going ahead with it! My other half has his mk2 golf with them on classic insurance but wanted some reviews on every day car insurance with them if anyone has any experience :-)

I thought Greenlight weren't insuring vRS's any more?

Blimey, makes me glad I've got a 1.8! last week my insurance was £241... and I got a free meerkat which is currently going for about a ton on ebay!

See my other half wanted to insure his fabia vrs but was told they don't insure them but then they gave him an online quote and seemed happy to progress with it?! Strange! I phoned them today to ask if the policy had driving other cars cover and the guy on phone never said anything about not covering vrs :-/ confused!

I've just got my renewal in from LV. Only had my VRS for a month after my Volvo V50 D5 was written off. Was quoted £276 per year with the claim from July on it. Wife has her Rav4 T180 with LV as well and pays £300. Sometimes it is best to look around as when I changed my Peugeot 407SW for the Volvo insurance quote shot up from £300 to £700 with Swiftcover. It seems that some companies are fine with certain cars and not so with others. Would be worth looking at comparethemarket.com or confused.com. Might save a bit.

I looked at confused.com and none came back as low as greenlight. Don't think it helps that I'm 25 and also that I live in Northern Ireland! Saying that I have got full no claims bonus! £700 is just too steep, I was expecting to stay the same or a slight increase even tho I changed car but def wasn't expecting a £300 increase!

I've been with green light for the last two years, no issue at all with them. Sensible prices of you do some mods too

Will give them a ring back today I think. £190 is too much to throw away. Have you ever had to deal with them for a claim etc?

They have had a few bad reviews for some reason but I've been with them for a while now and they have always been helpful and fast when making changes etc.

They were also the cheapest quote i could find at the time
