dmf showing signs of wear?

Featured Replies

Hi. Recently bought a mk2 fl tfsi vrs and coming from an aygo I'm loving every second-as you'd imagine! I've got a question about my dmf. I've done a search which has been non conclusive-the problem I have is that when I'm pulling away in 1sti get a slight grinding noise and what can be described as a gritty feeling through the clutch pedal. It's not incredibly bad and I don't have many of the symptoms I've read on here like spanners in washing machines and erratic idling ect but there is a noise that is similar to a rattle on start up but sounds more exhaust than starter motor spinning. ...

I just wondered if this is normal?

I've had clutch and flywheel problems with past cars so I do tend to get a bit paranoid with these things. Lol I have a good 12 month Warrentee so I shall be keeping an ear on it over next month or so.

Thanks, Ben

If you've got a warranty, take it in to be looked at.  You have at least then tried to bring it to their attention if it goes 'bang' thirteen months later.

It could presumably also be a gearbox problem? Whatever, if you're not happy and it's got a warranty, get it looked at.
