Prosport Coilovers Fitted - Happy Bunny :)

Featured Replies

So I ordered some Prosport Coilovers from DPM (great service by the way). Fitted them this week along with new top mounts, bearings and Vito drop link. All in all very happy with them. Nowhere near as hard and uncomfortable as i'd imaginged, infact compared to my old wallowy standard suspension (after 11 years and 136k) it feels & handles great. Got 2.5cm of thread left on the fronts and 2cm on the rears and running 5mm spacers on the fronts. Cant decide whether to go for spacers on the rears or now as it doesnt catch on anything.

I thought exactly the same when I fitted mine, superb kit for the price.

I remember many moons ago when my car looked like this. God, what a difference now haha. Looks good though.

I miss mine.

Why do I do it to myself.

Nice and shiny

Very nice buddy.

I fitted 12mm spacers on the front to help the wheels clear the coilovers spring mounts.

I just fitted 8mm forge spacers to rears this weekend to balance fronts and no rubbing with 3mm thread left.:-D

Thanks for the comments guys. The 5mm spacers seem to be doing the trick on the front at this height so dont see the need to go any wider. Still not sure whether to space the rears or not yet but I suppose 5mm on the front only wont upset the balance too much.

Steven89: - Not sure what shade of tint it is as it was done before I bought it. It is lighter on the rears than the fronts though.

More mods to come soon such as front mount etc and wheel refurb in different colour. Watch this space

Just a question, how the compare with the bilstein pss9 ones!!!!Are they any better???

I would have said they wouldnt be a patch on the Bilsteins as the price difference is HUGE. That said I cannot find a listing for the Mk1 Octy VRS for the PSS9

You can't compare unless you have fitted both to same car........which i don't think OP has.

Personally based on my experience on having around 6 different suspension set ups on the VRS you do get what you pay for.

The current KW's are leaps above anything else i have fitted, and I would say the same for the Bilsteins over the Pro Sports. Different league buddy.

Not to say the Pro sports would not do the job as they appear to work for quite a few Octy owners now.

Thats what I am thinking...I now have the KW sport kit(sport shocks and springs not the coilover setup) and my car bounce a lot.A friend of mine has the bilstein fitted on his Leon and he took me for a ride..the different was huge as the leon didnt bounce like my car....not to mention that my car has 28K kilometers while the leon 80k+....
