Quick query.

Probably been asked before but I can't find the answer.

Seen a nice red one of these & may go to see it tomorrow but does it have a cam belt or chain - if belt then computer says no.

Does that go for the 1.4 tsi se also?

SE and Elegance are only trim levels and doesn't have anything to do with the drivetrain. The 1.4 TSI in the mk2 is chain driven. The engine was redesigned for the mk3, with a timing belt again. 

 

But there's nothing wrong with timing belts.
