Fabia II 2008, RNS 510 & maxi dot issue

Featured Replies

Hi,

This is my first post to the forum so i will try to be as much informative as possible as i am running out of solutions and i truly hope someone can help me out !

I have my wives Fabia II (pre FL) whci i have retro fitted the following:

1) Maxi dot (with no issues)

2) RNS-510 Columbus - HW:11 SW:1164, Part No:3T0 035 680 , bought from ebay as new.

3) Kufatec Can bus ACN TP1.6 adaptor.

The columbus has been patched according to the ebay seller so not to face the battery drain issue, which is valid after using it for a few weeks now.

Columbus is working without any problems, navi is accurate and it shuts off and back on with the ignition key, as Kufatec adaptor seems to work as advertise.

The problem, which i can not resolve - as it shows in the pics attached - is that since day 1, i get on the maxi dot a constant RNS CRUISE logo instead of columbus info (fm station, etc). This 'RNS CRUIS' goes off when i turn off columbus and again goes on, when columbus operates again. No info there whatsoever.

I have read that coding may be nessecary so i went ot my local dealer (Athens Greece) but he could not be of any help as he could not change anythinh via VCDS.

Is there anybody who could share a possible cause and solution to this? I have seen around the web that this is doable to exactly the same setup as mine, so there has to ba a way around it.

Many thanks to all in advance

Nick
