Reverse Light

Featured Replies

Hi Guys,

My reverse light is not been working for some time....

I have checked the bulb, it is ok but bought a new one anyway!

Checked fuse 13 (as per hans manual), all ok.....

Any other ideas? Is it easily accessible?

Car is a 1.4Tdi Skoda Fabia Classic

Thanks in advance!

Switch in the gearbox would be the next logical check, but I don't know any more than that.

Also make sure a wire hasn't rubbed or broken somewhere.

Test with a voltmeter on the bulb centre contact point and an earth point to check whether any voltage is present.

I nearly guarantee it's the switch at the front of the gearbox, the wires are too short anyway but engine movement causes them to stretch and then snap.

Only a few quid to get it fixed :)

I think it is the switch too. Jack the car, take off the engine tray, take of the connector, and short the connector when the ignition is on ON. If the reverse lights work then you pointed out the problem but if they does not you need to dig deeper.

Awesome, thanks for the help!

Since last night, someone has also put a hole in my rear right brake light.... so need to replace that now!!!

Anyone got one going for cheap?

Cheers

Check on ebay

Do you refer no lights working or one is working whilst the other is not working?? assuming you have normally 2 reversing lights.
