MDI cables

Featured Replies

The missus has just taken delivery of her new Monte Carlo and after taking it for a spin I am very impressed with it for a small car.

She got a iPod MDI cable with it, but us being an android household have nothing to connect it too.

I did a quick google search and found a genuine Skoda one at 25 quid on eBay. But there were other VW ones for a Tenner.

I will need 3 in total, 2 micro USB and a standard USB.

Will a VW MDI fit a Skoda? Before I waste any money I thought I would find out from you nice people.

Title should say MDI bloody auto correct on this tablet.

Fixed the title for you.

VW and Skoda MDI are the same, so should work in either.

You should have an ipod and a USB lead.

All the mdi leads are the same. All VAG parts.

The micro usb lead may or may not (fully) work depending upon your phone. I tried the VW and Skoda ones and neither worked with my Win8 phone but (at least) charging worked on the android & BB phones that I checked.

Thanks Mannyo for changing the title..

Thanks all for your valued input..

She has a Galaxy S3 - I have a Galaxy S4..

At least I'm reassured that spending £10 on a cable and it doesn't work 100% - it will still charge her phone., is better than paying £25 and it not working.

Will order some tonight for her - she's missing her music and has to use my laptop to try and burn CD's (which I have to pay for also? - Don't understand how that works), she's managed to burn nothing onto the the last 4 CD's before she gave up stating that she "hates computers".

So officially we are a 2 Skoda family now..  I just have to park my 10 plate Octavia on the road now as her  car is now worth more than mine :(

Roll on November when I get the new vRS :)
