Central Locking hell! Please, anyone - HELP!

Featured Replies

This all started when I replaced my passenger side front door lock.

I have now tried 3 different locks (2 new non OEM, & 1 second hand) & they all do the same.

While everything is unlocked & I press the lock button on the key fob, all the doors lock. But if I press the lock button again the passenger side door opens!! WFT.

If i click the open button on the key fob the driver’s door opens & the passenger one does as well - it shouldn’t.

If I click the door lock button on the door, all the doors lock & then the passenger door re-unlocks itself.

The car doesnt recognise that the drivers door has been opened & we relock itself after if I dont put the keys in the ignition & start the car.

I just discovered that the boot doesn’t unlock now - only way in is to use the centre button on the key-fob to open it.

I've tried plugging in the passenger door lock in various states - with just the driver’s door unlocked, all the doors locked & the doors unlocked but it makes no difference.

Seriously guys - I'm at my wits ends.

Does anyone know why everything has gone completely messed up since getting the new lock(s). Is it a question of getting it reprogrammed or is it a compatibility issue & the locks arent right for my car (53Reg Fabia VRS)

Sorry I can't help but I have the exact same problem on my Fabia VRS. (same problem with door lock button and on pressing the keyfob twice)

Going to take a look this weekend so will let you know but if you find a solution please message me!

I have a theory it might be that the lock was installed locked when it should have been unlocked or vice versa

In the meantime, bump in case anyone else knows.

Andy

could be that, as above, the lock is out of sync. That's a guess. Did you clip the spring over the latch before fitting the new locks?
