Has anyone actually got a heated screen on their tsi vrs?

Featured Replies

There are a number of threads that mention the subject but they are scattered about and there is no clear answer.Hoping this thread will catch a few more examples of the elusive heated screen.

So if you have a vrs tsi with a heated screen please let the members know.(When you got it and the dealer name would also be good)

Hopefully with a few cases of the option being fitted we can then speak to Skoda UK with a bit more ammunition.

Yes, We have a heated front screen on our TSi VRS estate, which we picked up yesterday (will put up pics on seperate thread) bought it through Wayside in Milton Keynes and the salesman was Keith. You cant order the winter pack for a Tsi but if you use the configurator you will need Heated screen which then asked you to add heated seats and possibly heated washers as well. so it can be done ( picture of controll button below)

This is weird, I've literally logged on & been on to SUK at the same time regarding this very subject and they are completely adamant that you cannot have the heated windscreen with the petrol vRS and that the option has not been available to purchasers!

So I find it slightly baffling how some people have successfully managed to order it! Now have SUK moved the goalposts since the launch of the Octavia & vRS range or is the inclusion of the heated screen accidental.

Perhaps other members may like to press SUK for a definitive answer on this subject.

Mine due any day now..... origionally ordered heated windscreen only but a few days later, Simpsons Skoda Preston called to say to have the heated windscreen I would have to have the heated front seats and the heated washer jet nozzles as well, I couldnt just have the windscreen. Hope this helps.

Is yours a Tsi as well?

Just done the configurator for a TSi and to get heated windscreen, it first asks you to add heated nozzles and then once confirmed, asks you to add heated seats.

So yes it can be done.

Go & try and order one then. You'll be told NO, end of, The configurator is wrong, SUK have been told it wrong and they don't do anything about it.

I wanted heated seats, heated windscreen & washers, only to be told you cannot have heated windscreen because it's a petrol engined vRS, you want it you have to go to diesel version.

I didn't want diesel as I don't do the necessary mileage to recoupe the extra outlay & possible hassle with the DPF as most journeys are short <10 miles each way, bar ~6 times pa when I go for weekends away.

Well we have got a heated screen on our TSI VRS and only got it yesterday apart from the original battle with the configurator everything was fine

I suspect you ordered your car quite sometime ago & the uptake of the option was very slow so someone in SUK decided to remove it as an option.

I'm sorry but I really don't believe the hogwash that's being touted about by SUK that the windscreen would add to the car's emissions level and put it in the next tax band.

Yes mine is a TSI

It would be kind of helpful guys if you can post your order dates, so it's possible to work out where the cut off date roughly was.

Ours was ordered on 6/08/13 build number/ commission number at factory was 23422351 collected 1/10/13

I presume SUKs (later) logic is that the petrol engined versions cannot cope with the increased load from the screen, seats and nozzles on the standard battery and that the larger capacity batteries of the diesel are more suited.

However that doesn't answer the fact that clearly some owners do have the options on their petrol cars.

Logic and common sense two words/phrase that should not be used in the same sentence as SUK as they seem to defy the definition of both.
