Mk1 VRS with Hiccup/stutter at low load...

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I am not on here often, but wondered if anyone has had the same issue I am having....

I have got VRS/WRC 97

Just covered 170k lovely miles..

Serviced regularly.

I have a stutter/hiccup at low throttle openings, say, cruising in a 30 zone, or even 70+ on the motorway...

I have no loss of power on WOT, and she accellerates cleanly, and is fine on over run.

Only exhibits the trait when driving on a balanced throttle, cruising, with a small throttle opening (of say, less than 25%)

it is not like a sudden lift of the throttle, it is a total, if very brief, loss of power, feels almost like a quick  but gentle dab of the brakes.

Apart from P0601 (memory check sum error) which has been with the car since purchasing 5 years ago, there are no fault codes coming up....

I would really appreciate knowing if anyone has experienced the same and has any solutions!!1

Thanks in advance!

Rob

It's worth doing a throttle body clean, if you haven't already.

I had this last week, turned out to be two coil packs!

Yeah worth a phone call to your local Skoda dealer to see if your car is covered by the VAG coilpack replacement TSB.
