Does anyone know this Yeti...

SJ10 ZWM - for sale on Autotrader here

Aside from the high mileage, if you open the photo of the front, it looks like the driver's side headlight & DRL are misaligned, like it's been in some sort of shunt and badly repaired....

It's been for sale for several weeks at least - a few days ago it was down to about £8700, now it's gone up to £9289. (Think it was over £10k when I first saw it).

I'm normally not afraid of buying high milers, my current car is the first one in about 6 years that's sub-100k - but the scarcity of the 170 4x4 Yeti worries me should I end up needing to look for spares. I'm also not familiar with the longevity & repair costs of the Haldex unit...

Something doesn't look right, i wonder if the headlamp and fog/drl have been replaced with pattern parts rather than oem after an accident?

Looks to me like it's not been straightened out properly.

I very much doubt that anyone is making a pattern light unit! There just isn't enough demand.

Looks to me as if there has been a knock to that side and the light mounting panel hasn't be replaced or straightened. It could be a simple job, or...................................................

The Headlight/driving light is a single unit, and it looks like it has been replaced, but set abut 1 Cm too far in.

The front offside wing /bonnet and front valance shut lines look OK,as do the nearside.

The offside front lights do look slightly offset, but then the nearside front lights have a very thick "outline" in the front nearside quarter shot.  It might just be a photographic artefact.  The photos are pretty low resolution, anyway.

It's advertised with "fsh" so presumably if you asked to see the service history it would indicate whether any work has been done to the lights?  Either that, or the "sh" isn't as "f" as it is supposed to be.  Not something a reputable seller would want to be caught doing, but then again, second-hand car dealers as a group do tend to have a bit of a "reputation"...

I suspect the low price is due at least partly to the high mileage.

Agreed it doesn't look right, but, if it had been in an accident and had the fog and headlight broken surely the wing and front panels would also have been broken and needed replacing. I think maybe someone has had the indicator bulb replaced and the wing etc have not been put back properly.

I can't quite follow that.

To replace the indicator bulb you don't remove either the wing or the light unit,. You remove the wing liner and a grommet that is replaced by a new one, then refit the liner.

It is perfectly possible to break the headlight mountings and the bend the mounting panel slightly without damaging the wings, and it would be very easy to fit a new front bumper.

anyone else see a paint colour differential between the drivers side front and rear door ?

Yes!

Emailed them, apparently it "has had accident damage" and two owners (both Lex?).

And yes I think I can see the different door colours too!

I think the phrase is "I wouldn't touch it with yours"

Looks like rear drivers side door has had some paint too

I have been to see that ages ago it has had a fair whack on the wing the general state of the car is VERY unloved, it has no service book but does have all the bills for work.

I wouldn't touch it at the lower price, those pictures make the damage look better than it is the panel gaps are way out not even close.

Oh and it was at the skoda dealers for over a week with a "light on the dash" - This has come up twice they told me and it was at the main dealer having the light removed

hence the price hike

As for the sales people they all like they are still at school and paid in gummy bears.
