Petrol gauge

Featured Replies

My petrol gauge never reads a full tank, always 2 notches from full - anyone else notice this?

Nope - Mine always goes to the top.  Could be a bad contact at the fuel sender, or a sticky float, or a bad sender, or something else I didn't think of.

Are you sure the tank is full?

No problem with mine. It reads perfectly but I do recall that I had the same problem on a previous vehicle, a Merc. Dealer rectified this with a "Tweak" to the Can-Bus. Refer the problem back to your dealer or maybe someone with VCDS could help? Try posting the question in the VCDS section LINK, Hope it helps and you get a result .................Tony

I have the opposite problem. Mine stays at full for the first 100 or so miles after filling up.  I reset the trip when filling and find that more use.
