'62 Octy Vrs DSG Diesel Maintenance Costs

Featured Replies

Hiya folks,

I'm the proud owner of a white 62 plate Diesel Vrs & have a few questions on costs that are likely to come in the next couple of years...

Got it in Nov last year & just hit 20k miles with absolutely no issues which is always nice.  Am getting some new tyres on the front in the next couple of weeks so very pleased with how they've lasted (especially reading some horror stories when I first got it....!!) so got that covered, really I'm just curious to see how long brake pads/disks etc are likely to last & if there's anything to look out for in terms of common hiccups.

As you can probably tell about 90% of my driving is on motorways/A Roads & I'm not particularly heavy-footed with it so any indications of what I need to be putting away to cover these things will be gratefully received.

Also on a slightly different note, I'm contemplating the new Vrs (this was always going to happen.....) so what do you think the car (DSG, Parking sensors, spare wheel, bluetooth, absolutely spotless aside from a little ding on a rear alloy....) would be worth?  Paid £18k &  I know at a dealer I'd probably only get about £12k on a trade-in but there doesn't seem to be many around so might be worth selling privately?  Again any advice would be very gratefully received!

Thanks in advance for any help, this really is a cracking forum.

Cheers,

Ozzy
