Milltek fitted, not as loud as others? Please help

Featured Replies

Right so I just picked my car up from shark perfomance today. I'v had 312mm brake upgrade, weitec ht gt coilovers and full no cat miltek fitted. And the exhaust does sound better but not as loud as other fabia vrs miltek cars I'v seen!

I'm at a car meet this minute! And a few fabias with milteks fitted sound awesome and spool!?!??

What can I do to make myne the same?

Any help would be great! It's cost me £550 for full exhaust!!!

Air filter makes a huge difference to the noise, did on mine anyways

Not sure if it's the same on diesels but the older my exhaust got the louder it got, well it did on both my old petrols, and I dare say it did on my Fabia too.

The milltek system isn't loud. If you wanted it loud you should have got a piper.

I chose my milltek for the reason it isn't loud. Although I still have my cat in place at the moment.

Yh I don't want it sill loud just a bit louder if you know what I mean!

Will a full k&n induction kit really make a big difference!???

I have a k&n panel in mine. I can hear it on the motorway @ 70mph. But I just turn the radio up.

Is it a full system with a decat?

If you want loud then get the back box replaced with a straight pipe. It won't be overly loud but will roar :D

I think my piper system has definitely got louder with time. Ditch the induction kit idea, they sound **** on diesels too droney.

Yeah my piper got louder over time too. A miltek isn't the loudest to start with, but other setup (turbo etc) will make a difference.

I love my big old cone filter :D

The thing that I noticed that made the biggest noise difference was the FMIC! (Not sure why)

Now I have a hybrid the turbo is louder than the exhaust.

Slightly off topic, I'm contemplating a 0 Silencer Piper cat back for my VRS. Came across a video on Youtube and think it sounds fantastic. Basically, is it going to cause issues come MOT time RE: noise? Especially if it gets louder over time. I've had a couple of loud cars, a straight through Punto (never had to take it through an MOT with it on though) and a Fiesta ST with a non-resonated milltek (again, I never had to take it through an MOT with it on), so I don't know if it's likely to cause issues come MOT time.

Won't cause any problems come MOT time mate, for a cheaper alternative have a look at a mufflerectomy although the Pipers are really good exhausts!

Bear in mind that at idle with an EGR delete, it sounds different / throatier. At least mine did.

I caved earlier. Ordered the 0 silencer Piper, twin 3" tip.
